Leukemia

The Baystate Regional Cancer Program includes the region’s largest and most highly regarded leukemia practice. We treat both adults and children affected by these rare and serious blood disorders. Baystate's hematology specialists actively diagnose and treat all types of blood disorders, including:

  • Anemia
  • Bleeding and clotting abnormalities
  • Leukemia and other malignancies
  • Other hemoglobinopathies (red blood cell disorders)
  • Sickle cell disease

Our hematology laboratory and transfusion support services include the latest intensive therapies to ensure you receive the most advanced care available. Your treatment plan will likely include chemotherapy at the D’Amour Center for Cancer Care. We also offer access to the many national cancer research studies currently investigating the latest treatment options.

Childhood Cancer Care

Children with cancer and blood disorders suffer from diseases that are very different from adults. They have reactions to illness and treatment that vary with their age. Our pediatric hematology-oncology team is uniquely qualified to provide comprehensive and compassionate treatment of childhood cancer and blood disorders.

Our pediatric experts see patients in the Sadowsky Center for Children, located within the D’Amour Center for Cancer Care.

Our expertise is enhanced by affiliation with the Children's Oncology Group, a national cooperative group for clinical trials, giving patients access to a broad range of studies in which they may qualify to participate.
