Medical Education

A recognized leader in educational innovation, Baystate Medical Center has been training doctors since 1914.  

Now the regional campus of the University of Massachusetts Medical School, we offer: 

Continuing Interprofessional Education

We are a nationally accredited provider of continuing education for the entire team of health care professionals.

Nursing Education

  • We offer clinical practicums for baccalaureate, masters, or doctoral-level nursing students at affiliated schools of nursing. 
  • The Nurse Residency Program trains new Bachelor of Science or Associate Degree nurse graduates who have never worked as a LPN or RN.

Through our affiliation with the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Science, we offer two Pharmacy residencies:

Clinicals and Internships in Allied Health Professions

Baystate's educational partnerships allow us to offer clinical experiences for allied health professions such as:

Interested in medical school? Our Population-based Urban and Rural Community Health (PURCH) Track focuses on rural and urban medicine, especially the under-served. (PURCH is a curriculum pathway of the University of Massachusetts Medical School.)
