Pathology

Baystate Health’s world-class Department of Pathology includes more than 500 full-time staff, including medical technologists, medical laboratory technicians, and assistants.

In addition, we have more than 20 staff pathologists, all certified by the American Board of Pathology, and many who also have subspecialty certification.

These figures make us one of the largest practices in New England, and our reference laboratory one of the largest hospital-based reference labs in the country. This ensures that even behind the scenes, you have nationally recognized experts contributing to your diagnosis and treatment plan.

Radiology/Imaging

Baystate Health’s Department of Radiology also includes a team of board certified physician experts, many of whom also have subspecialty certifications.

Combined with our team of certified technologists, they diagnose and stage all types of cancers using the latest imaging techniques, including:
