Community Health Needs Assessments

Baystate Health is required by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and the Massachusetts Office of the Attorney General (AGO) to conduct a Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) every three years and to adopt an implementation strategy to address the identified community health needs. The CHNA must define the community served, assess health needs, solicit input from community members, including those with public health expertise, document the findings, and make the report widely accessible to the public.
