In the Community
Baystate Health is committed to creating healthier communities by working with affiliated providers and actively developing partnerships to meet the identified health and wellness needs of our patients and the broader community.
We embrace the definition of health to include social determinants, such as economic opportunity, affordable housing, quality education, safe neighborhoods, food security, social and racial justice, and arts and culture – all the elements that are needed for individuals, families, and communities to thrive.
We provide many valuable services, programs, and resources beyond the walls of the hospital and into the communities and homes of the people we serve. Our commitment is demonstrated through annual Community Benefits Investments, Community Sponsorships, Better Together Grant Programs, and Corporate Sponsorships.
In fulfilling our commitment to the communities that we serve, our investments aim to improve public health, increase access to health care, advance medical/health knowledge, improve quality of life, and respond to priority health needs identified in our 2016 community health needs assessment.
Baystate Health and affiliated hospitals have a common community benefits mission “to reduce health disparities, promote community wellness, and improve access to care for vulnerable populations."
