When it comes to your child’s health, you want only the very best. The best hospital. The best pediatric doctors and specialists. The best care. Baystate Children’s Hospital meets all of those requirements – and much more.
Diseases that affect children are often very different from those that affect adults. Children’s reactions to illnesses and treatments vary, too. No matter what illness or injury affects your child, you can take comfort in knowing that help is available close to home in western Massachusetts.
Only Full-Service Pediatric Care in the Region
In addition to general pediatrics, doctors at Baystate – the region’s only accredited full-service children’s hospital – are specially qualified to provide comprehensive and compassionate treatment of:
Using the most advanced newborn and pediatric medical technology, our expert doctors and other specialists draw from extensive training, research, and experience in caring for the individual needs of babies, children, and adolescents. Our child-friendly environment focuses exclusively on children and their families.
Outpatient Pediatric Services
Most of our pediatric care is outpatient - at the Baystate Children’s Specialty Center and the General Pediatrics Health Center. The first center was designed to serve special needs of children and families and the second center was designed to serve more general needs of children and families. Both offer exceptional pediatric care, comfort, and convenience.
We also provide specialized outpatient care for children with cancer and blood disorders in the Sadowsky Center for Children. Some of our specialists also see patients in other locations in Springfield, Northampton, and Pittsfield.
When Your Child Needs Inpatient Care
Our 110-bed inpatient facility includes complete critical care services through the region’s only Pediatric Intensive Care and Neonatal Intensive Care Units. We have two specially designed inpatient units - one for infants and children (birth through 14 years of age) and another for adolescents and young adults (ages 15-21).
All of the areas for children within the hospital provide a welcoming and relaxed environment for our young patients and their families, including our Sadowsky Family Pediatric Emergency Department and Baystate Children's Hospital Surgery Center.
