But who coordinates this team of specialists and your child’s treatment if your child is staying in the hospital? A pediatric hospitalist.

Just as your pediatrician tends to your child’s care outside the hospital, hospitalists coordinate your child’s care while he or she is in the hospital. They order and review test results, consult with specialists as needed, communicate with your pediatrician, and answer any questions you and your child have.

Pediatric hospitalists are the cornerstone of our family-centered care. Our team is on duty in the Children’s & Adolescents’ Unit at all times, coordinating and supervising your child’s care.

Our pediatric hospitalists care for infants, children, and adolescents who have conditions that require a hospital stay, including:
