August Babysitter Academy to be held at Baystate Mary Lane Hospital

Baystate Mary Lane Hospital will sponsor a Babysitters Academy in August to ready area youth for fall and winter babysitting responsibilities.

The one day program will be held on Tuesday, August 4, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The class will be held in the Main Conference Room located on the second floor of the hospital.

What to expect

The Babysitters Academy is a certified babysitter program for young adults ages 11½ to 16. The one day session offers potential babysitters instruction in baby care, first aid, CPR, fire safety, home security, child behavior and accident prevention.

Participants are given a course booklet containing helpful tips and other information and will receive a graduation certificate upon completion of the course.

The program is offered by the Parenting program at Baystate Medical Center. There is a $30 fee. Space is limited.
