Baystate Wing Hospital in Palmer is a 74-bed community hospital with a rich history of providing outstanding health care for people throughout the Quaboag Hills and the Pioneer Valley. Baystate Wing Hospital offers a broad range of medical, surgical, and psychiatric services, has a fully staffed Emergency Department that offers adults and children comprehensive emergency services around the clock, includes a six-bed critical care unit and is a primary stroke center designated by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, recognized with a Get With the Guidelines® Gold Plus quality award for stroke care from the American Heart Association.
Our hospital offers comprehensive, personalized, and high-quality inpatient and outpatient behavioral health and addiction treatment services through the Griswold Behavioral Health Center and the Center for Geriatric Psychiatry.
Baystate Wing’s five medical centers, located in Belchertown, Ludlow, Monson, Palmer, and Wilbraham, offer extensive outpatient services and primary care provided by physicians who specialize in adult family medicine, internal medicine, geriatric medicine and pediatric medicine.

Planning Your Visit
We welcome family members and friends to visit patients in the hospital when they wish, and in accordance with our patient’s healthcare and personal needs and the needs of their health care team. Please feel free to ask our caregivers for help in deciding the best time to visit.
The Baystate Wing Hospital cafeteria is found in the lower level of the hospital and is open to visitors Monday through Friday, 7:00 am – 10:00 am, 11:30 am – 1:30 pm and 5 pm – 6:30 pm. (Closed Saturdays and Sundays.) The Wright Street Café located on the first floor of the hospital is open 7 days a week from 7:30 am – 10:30 am and 11:00 am – 7:00 pm.
Baystate Wing Hospital’s gift shop, located on the first floor, carries gift items, toys, toiletries, reading materials, snacks, and more. The gift shop is managed by Baystate Wing Hospital Auxiliary Volunteers, and is open Monday to Friday 9:30 am – 4:30 pm.
