Exercise Physiology

Career Description

Clinical exercise physiologists work with clients who have been diagnosed with a chronic metabolic, pulmonary, or cardiac disease.


Exercise physiologist programs can be completed in a 2 year masters degree program.


  • Students must have completed the following courses: Anatomy & Physiology, Physiology of Exercise, EKG Interpretation, and Exercise Testing and Prescription.
  • Clinical experiences are arranged through the academic advisor from programs that are affiliated with BMC.

Length of Clinical Experience

The Cardiac Rehabilitation Internship experiences are approximately 3–4 months long.

Clinical Tracks at BMC

Cardiac Rehab and Wellness. Most students will begin their clinical experience in outpatient, which is phase 3 of cardiac rehabilitation.
