Your child’s heart is precious to you – and to us. At Baystate Children’s Hospital, our board-certified pediatric cardiologists and other specialists care for your child’s heart using the latest diagnosis and treatment methods available.

Testing we offer includes:

  • Ambulatory rhythm monitoring
  • Echocardiogram
  • Electrocardiogram (EKG)
  • Exercise testing
  • Holter 24-hour EKG
  • Pediatric cardiology consultations

We also work with the experts in our Maternal-Fetal Medicine Program to provide fetal echocardiography services, prenatal counseling, and treatment for fetal cardiac disorders.

We provide treatment and management of:

  • Acquired cardiac disease in children
  • Common cardiac complaints
  • Congenital heart defects
  • Heart murmurs
  • Hyperlipidemia
  • Major congenital heart disease (CHD)
  • Rhythm abnormalities (arrhythmias)

If your child has been diagnosed with CHD, he or she will need to be monitored throughout adulthood. Thanks to advances in diagnostics and cardiac surgery, kids with congenital heart disease (CHD) are living well into their 30s, 40s, 50s, and beyond.

As our pediatric patients transition into adulthood, our care grows with them. Baystate Health’s Adult Congenital Heart Program ensures a consistent and seamless transition of care.

You can rely on our adult and pediatric cardiologists to work together and to consult with you and your family. Most young people with CHD transition to adult cardiologists between the ages of 18 and 21.
