Welcome to Baystate Health's Maternal Fetal Medicine located on the ground floor of Baystate Medical Center. Every pregnancy is unique and sometimes requires added specialized pregnancy care to ensure the health and wellbeing of both parent and baby.

Our health providers offer specialized care during pregnancy, especially when there are increased risks or concerns. We collaborate closely with your Ob/Gyn doctor or midwife to provide comprehensive, advanced diagnostics such as obstetric ultrasounds and fetal echocardiograms. Our practice is certified by the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM), reflecting our commitment to exceptional standards in imaging and patient care.

Our team is here to provide you with outstanding care throughout your pregnancy journey. Contact us to learn more or schedule your appointment.

Preparing for Your Visit

Please arrive 15 minutes early with your health insurance information and a photo ID.

Bringing an adult support person is helpful for making decisions and discussing family medical history. Choose your support person carefully if you wish to keep some health information private regarding you or your unborn child.

You may bring two visitors to your routine ultrasound, but we ask that you do not bring children. Children cannot be left unattended in the waiting room. If children are brought to the ultrasound, we may have to ask that other adult support persons wait in the waiting room with the child.

Only one visitor over 18 years old may be present for ultrasound procedures such as amniocentesis or chorionic villi sampling to ensure safety of the procedure.

We recommend a comfortable, two-piece, loose-fitting outfit that can easily expose the abdomen to the sonographer during the ultrasound. You can eat and drink before your appointment. There is no need to come to the ultrasound with a full bladder.
