Maternal-Fetal Medicine Education

Didactic conferences are provided in varying formats, including formal lecture series, clinical conferences, journal review sessions, and research meetings. Lectures cover the requirements from the ABOG Guide to Learning in Maternal-Fetal Medicine and are given by MFM faculty and guest lecturers from faculty throughout the Baystate system.

Additional lectures, conferences, and academic protected time include:

  • Protected time for the SMFM Fellowship Lecture Series (every other week)
  • Multidisciplinary Congenital Anomalies Meeting (monthly)
  • Morbidity and Mortality Grand Rounds (monthly)
  • OB/GYN Department Grand Rounds (weekly)
  • Fetal Care Conference (monthly)
  • OB Cardiology Case Conference (quarterly)
  • MFM Journal Club (quarterly)
  • Simulation lab time (quarterly)
  • Pregnancy and Renal Disease Seminar (semi-annual)
  • SMFM Patient Quality and Safety Series guided-curriculum (weekly)

Each fellow is given an annual CME stipend for travel to conferences, textbooks and other educational expenses.
