Support the Future of Cancer Care in Western Massachusetts
We are seeking your support for the future of cancer care in western Massachusetts. More than 7,000 people who receive treatment at the D’Amour Center for Cancer Care annually and those treated at our regional hospitals and outpatient centers rely on this care to continue to fight the good fight.
Healthier Tomorrows: The Campaign for Baystate Health will transform and cement excellent, accessible healthcare in our community for generations to come—and it will take everyone in our community, together, to make this vision a reality.
Your gift provides hope. Your gift provides program sustainability and growth. Your gift provides life.
Your Impact on Local Cancer Care
The way we treat cancer continues to evolve rapidly.
In order to provide patients across our regions with the most effective and efficient care possible - both in terms of improved health and cost - we need to be prepared for what comes next.
We have identified areas in which your support can make a life-saving difference for the future of cancer care in western Massachusetts through your local cancer center
Moving Cancer Care Forward
- A dedicated endowment will provide permanent, ongoing funding to support cancer care for generations to come through a variety of avenues.
- Attract and retain physicians to western Massachusetts in a competitive recruiting environment
- Support cancer-related research
- Provide funding for educational opportunities for health care professionals
- Address technology needs and advance patient care innovation
- Make financial resources available throughout the Baystate Regional Cancer Program
Baystate Health is creating new clinical care space for patients located at 3400 Main Street, adjacent to the D’Amour Center for Cancer Care, to allow more patients to be seen faster and improve access to care for our community members.
The D’Amour Center for Cancer Care needs to remain a leader in technical advances in delivering cancer care. ExacTrack is the latest in precision radiotherapy positioning and monitoring. While working hand-in-hand with linear accelerators, ExacTrack preserves normal tissue surrounding tumors. During radiation therapy, it adjusts radiation delivery based on a patient’s breathing pattern, targeting the tumor only. The D’Amour Center for Cancer Care is in need of two ExacTrack machines, which will be the first of their type in our region.
Reflecting On The Journey
Our Journey
In 2004, the doors of the D’Amour Center for Cancer Care opened. We have been there for the celebrations, challenges, and surprises of thousands of patients. Chances are, you know one or more of our patients. You have seen their struggles, their successes, and know that hope, support, and comfort are crucial to their journeys.
And that is what the D’Amour Center for Cancer Care is all about.
Though cancer care may look a bit different than it did years ago, the compassion and dedication to patient care remain the same. We have expanded, with patients being able to access infusions and meet with physicians at Baystate Franklin Medical Center and, soon, Baystate Noble Hospital through the Baystate Regional Cancer Program.
At the end of the day, we're here to provide excellent care in a safe and comfortable environment for our patients.
