Rheumatologists diagnose and treat conditions that affect the joints, muscles and connective tissues such as arthritis, fibromyalgia and lupus. Baystate Health contracts with local rheumatologists to provide quality rheumatology services for adults in Springfield and Greenfield. Pediatric rheumatology services are provided in the Baystate Children’s Specialty Center.

The Rheumatology Clinic is located is located at Baystate High Street Health Center, 140 High Street, Springfield. The clinic is staffed by rheumatologists from the Arthritis Treatment Center on Wednesday mornings from 8-11 am.  For an appointment, call 413-794-2518.

Arthritis Treatment Program in Greenfield

Baystate Rehabilitation Care at Baystate Franklin Medical Center offers a comprehensive arthritis treatment program that provides coordinated care for patients suffering from degenerative and rheumatologic joint conditions.

Treatment includes including physical and occupational therapy, nutritional services, orthopedics (through Franklin Orthopaedic Group), and rheumatology (through Valley Medical Group). The goal is to provide early intervention with appropriate therapies to limit tissue destruction from arthritis.

Evaluation includes analysis of the feet, as poor foot positions can adversely affect the knees and hips. Options for affordable orthotic correction are available. Adaptive equipment and splinting are offered for conditions affecting the upper extremities, in particular, the hands.
