What attracted you to Baystate Medical Center?

I was initially attracted to Baystate Medical Center based on how diverse the PGY1 residency curriculum is. As I started my residency year, I developed positive relationships with my preceptors and formed a strong bond with my co-residents. Going into my PGY1 year I had an interest in emergency medicine. I completed my emergency medicine rotation as a PGY1 before midyear and decided that I wanted to apply to the new PGY2 emergency medicine residency program here at Baystate. Since this is a level 1 trauma center serving a diverse patient population, I knew I would treat a variety of patient populations and gain valuable patient care experiences.

What is your favorite thing about living in the area?

My favorite thing about living in the area is the close proximity to both rural and urban areas. I appreciate being able to go home and live in a more rural, quiet area that's right next to the mountains. At the same time, I love that Boston is a short drive away and I have the opportunity to plan weekend trips there whenever I'd like without a lot of planning. I also grew up in New England and love all the seasons.

What are you most excited for this year?

All of the learning and growth from start to finish of residency! I'm excited to continue to learn from the preceptors here and make a positive impact on patient care.
