Watch an overview of Baystate Noble Hospital
Baystate Noble was founded in 1893, after the death of Westfield native Reuben Noble. Noble made his fortune in manufacturing whips. After suffering a serious injury, Noble decided to leave a big part of his estate to establish a hospital for residents in the area. Noble insisted the trustees should always include at least four women.
