Medicine-Pediatrics Faculty

One of the greatest strengths of Baystate Med-Peds is the faculty community that teaches, mentors, and supports our residents. Our faculty include primary care physicians, adult and pediatric hospitalists, subspecialists, clinician-educators, and leaders across Baystate Medical Center and Baystate Children’s Hospital.

Many of our faculty are graduates of our own Med-Peds residency program, bringing a deep understanding of the training experience and a lasting commitment to the program. They know the breadth, challenge, and opportunity of combined training, and they help residents explore the many career paths that Med-Peds makes possible.

Mentorship Across Training

Mentorship at Baystate Med-Peds happens in many ways: through formal advising, continuity clinic relationships, inpatient teaching, scholarly work, career planning, fellowship preparation, and informal conversations throughout residency.

Residents are supported by program leadership, core faculty, clinic preceptors, inpatient faculty, chief residents, alumni, and peers. Our goal is for each resident to have people who know them, understand their goals, and help them grow as clinicians, teachers, advocates, and future leaders.

Faculty Who Teach Across Settings

Baystate Med-Peds residents learn from faculty across inpatient medicine, outpatient primary care, subspecialty care, medical education, quality improvement, and health system leadership.

This breadth allows residents to find mentors who understand their interests, whether they are considering primary care, hospital medicine, fellowship, academic medicine, advocacy, quality improvement, global health, or leadership. Faculty support residents in clinical growth, career planning, scholarly work, fellowship applications, and leadership development.

Just as importantly, they model how to build meaningful and sustainable careers in Med-Peds.
