Diversity and Inclusion in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Program
Our Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship program acknowledges the importance of creating an environment and workforce centered upon the common goal of improving the health of our community, including our patients and their loved ones.
We are actively recruiting applicants from diverse backgrounds, including those who are traditionally underrepresented in medicine. We seek applicants with diversity in religion, race, ethnicity, gender, background, and orientation—to reflect the patient population we serve.
Baystate Health is committed to creating an environment that is inclusive of all people.
And, the Department of Psychiatry at UMMS-Baystate strenuously promotes an environment of tolerance and inclusion that is open to diverse thoughts and people, and where our trainees and faculty of all backgrounds are accepted and celebrated.
We recognize the current injustices in the world, and commit to consistently engage in open dialogue regarding health inequities, bias, and cultural competence in our formal and informal meetings including journal clubs, case conferences, and didactics. In addition, our department is committed to addressing health disparities through scholarly work and multidisciplinary collaboration within our institution.
