Temporary Traffic Flow Changes

Starting May 2021: Medical Center Drive will temporarily change to one-way. The entrance will be at Springfield Street. Visitors must exit through Chapin Terrace. You will need to turn left as you leave the parking areas and continue past the Medical Office Building (MOB) to exit the campus at Chapin Terrace. See below for more information.

Getting Here & Around

Starting May 2021: Temporary Traffic Flow Changes at Baystate Medical Center

Baystate Medical Center is starting construction on new operating rooms, which will have state-of-the-art equipment and resources needed for the highest levels of surgical care.

Starting as early as May 1, 2021, Medical Center Drive will temporarily change to one-way. The entrance will be at Springfield Street. Visitors must exit through Chapin Terrace. You will need to turn left as you leave the parking areas and continue past the Medical Office Building (MOB) to exit the campus at Chapin Terrace.

  • Traffic will still be able to enter and exit via Chapin Terrace during this time.
  • There will be signs up to direct you. BMC workers will also be directing traffic and answering questions
  • The change to Medical Center Drive, which is in front of BMC's main Daly Entrance, will last about a year.
