Getting Here & Around

From July – December 2021: Temporary Traffic Flow Changes at Baystate Medical Center

Baystate Medical Center is starting construction on new operating rooms, which will have state-of-the-art equipment and resources needed for the highest levels of surgical care.

During the next phase of construction beginning on Friday, October 29 and continuing to late December, both entrance and exit to Medical Center Drive from Springfield Street will be closed.

  • Traffic during this time will need to enter and exit Baystate Medical Center via Chapin Terrace.
  • Employees who are assigned to on-campus parking in the Daly garage may enter and exit through the valet lot adjacent to Springfield Street to access the garage.
  • Parking and the drop off lane in front of the ED will be completely closed for 3-4 days over the weekend of Oct. 29-31. It will also be closed sometime in late December (approximately 3-4 day duration each time). Parking in front of the ED will remain closed, but a travel and drop off lane will be provided. Valet assistance and a covered walkway to the ED entrance will be provided throughout the two month duration.
