Golfers tee’d off for the 30th annual Baystate Children’s Hospital Golf Tournament on June 13. Welcoming golfers to Longmeadow Country Club and Twin Hills Country Club for a day of golf and fun, the event raised critical funding to support Baystate Children’s Hospital.

Fundraising events help pediatric patients at Baystate Children’s Hospital, like 2022 Children’s Miracle Network Ambassador for Baystate Children’s Hospital, Hattie Avigliano.

Hattie was born in 2016, arriving three and a half months earlier than expected and weighing just over 1 lb. due to a serious complication with her Mom’s blood pressure, known as HELLP Syndrome. She spent the first three months of her life in the Davis Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Baystate Children’s Hospital, receiving 24/7 care to help her breathe, eat, and regulate her body temperature.

“The team at Baystate Children’s Hospital provided Hattie with such incredible care and truly became part of our family,” shared Aileen Avigliano, Hattie’s Mom. “Knowing that we have access to this caliber of care for kids in our region is so reassuring.”

In efforts to provide the highest quality of care to children, this year’s tournament supports the purchase of child-sized equipment for specialized procedures.

“As the only accredited full-service children’s hospital in western Massachusetts, our heart-felt mission is to be there for children and families when they need us most. The proceeds of this golf tournament help us to innovate and deliver state-of-the-art care so we can get children back to being healthy and living fulfilling lives with their families,” said Dr. Charlotte Boney, Pediatrician-in Chief of Baystate Children’s Hospital and Chair of Department of Pediatrics, UMass Chan-Baystate.
