Cyclists, runners, and walkers came together for the 15th annual Wheeling for Healing Ride, Walk, Run to support cancer services at Baystate Franklin Medical Center. With about 100 participants and volunteers at the event, the race raised more than $35,000 – and that number continues to grow.

Mark Keroack, MD, MPH, President & CEO, Baystate Health, participated in the ride, biking 25 miles before returning to have some lunch and visit with participants and volunteers.

“Participating as a cyclist during Wheeling for Healing provides me the opportunity to connect with our supporters and enjoy the beautiful landscape of Franklin County," Dr. Keroack says. "Whether participants are riding for themselves, in honor of someone, or in memory of a loved one, I am always moved by their strength and courage and by their commitment to supporting cancer care at Baystate Franklin Medical Center."

Wheeling for Healing has raised more than $538,000 to support cancer care and services in Franklin County. These funds have supported the purchase of new infusion chairs in the Oncology Suite, new exam tables, and programs, such as art therapy, writing, and yoga for patients and survivors.

Donations are still being accepted to support these important resources.
