Baystate Children’s Hospital Golf Tournament Provides Fun Day for Good Cause

April 19, 2021
Shane Perry 250

The Baystate Children’s Hospital Golf Tournament will take place on Monday, June 7, 2021. In its 29th year, the golf tournament has expanded to incorporate three courses: Longmeadow Country Club, The Ranch Golf Club and Twin Hills Country Club. The proceeds of the event support care for pediatric patients at Baystate Children’s Hospital, such as the 2020 Children’s Miracle Network Ambassador for Baystate Children’s Hospital, Shane Perry.

Shane was born in 2009 and upon his arrival, he was rushed to the Davis Neonatal Intensive Care Unit because he was having difficulty maintaining a stable oxygen level. It was in the NICU that his parents Jessica and Guy learned that Shane had Down syndrome. The family was back to Baystate Children’s Hospital when Shane was three months old after he contracted RSV and spent 14 days on a ventilator.

“The team was amazing and very supportive,” shared Jessica. “I had no idea until that moment how lucky we were to have Baystate Children’s Hospital in our own backyard.” The Baystate Children’s Golf Tournament supports these efforts and helps to keep pediatric care available to all who need it.

During COVID-19, this dedication to care has not changed.

“Caring for children in our community does not stop due to a national pandemic,” shared Dr. Charlotte Boney, chair of Department of Pediatrics, Baystate Health. “At Baystate Children’s Hospital, we continue to move forward and provide the highest level of care for our young patients. Your support helps us to innovate and continue to deliver state-of-the-art care.”

Sponsorship Opportunities that include a foursome begin at $2,250. Sponsor opportunities without golf begin at just $250. Foursomes remain available at The Ranch Golf Club and Twin Hills Country Club.
