Program Signaling & Rank Order List (ROL) Pilot Participation: The UMass Chan Medical School - Baystate Internal Medicine Residency Program is participating in the ERAS program signaling process.

  • For Internal Medicine, 15 program signals are allotted: 3 gold and 12 silver.
  • If our program aligns with your values and aspirations, you can signal our program by institution rather than by specific tracks.
  • AAIM recommends signaling your home institution or any program where you have completed a rotation, if interested.
  • While we preferentially review applications from candidates who signal our program, we also consider applicants who do not signal our program.
  • Signals are utilized only during our initial screening as part of a holistic application review for interview invitations and not as part of the ranking process.

For the 2025–2026 interview season, we are participating in the Voluntary Program Rank Order List (ROL) Lock Pilot. As part of this pilot, our program will certify and lock our rank list before February 9, 2026. Therefore, we want to assure you that your decision to attend or not attend a post-interview second-look visit will not influence your placement on our rank list in any way
