One of the greatest assets is our combined medicine-pediatrics continuity clinic at the Mason Square Neighborhood Health Center—one of the oldest and most sophisticated combined med-peds training sites in the country.
The clinic is precepted by 10 med-peds trained med-peds trained faculty as well as several categorical faculty.
Your Own Panel of Patients
You will have your own patient panel that you will follow for four years.
Mason Square is a Patient Centered Medical Home which means that you will provide comprehensive health care for your patients, coordinating their care across our health system.
In our patient-centered care model you will focus on the whole person—understanding and respecting their needs, culture, values, and preferences—and supporting them in becoming active participants in their health care.
You will be part of a team of healthcare professionals that includes nurses, advanced practitioners, nutritionists, social workers, community health workers, pharmacists, and care coordinators. Your team helps care for your patients when you are not available.
All-ages Clinics for Primary and Specialty Care
At Mason Square Neighborhood Health Center we provide comprehensive care for babies, children, and adults of all ages.
You will coordinate care across the spectrum of health needs and for all stages of life, from prevention and routine care to urgent medical issues, including management of chronic conditions and end-of-life care.
We have an innovative integrated behavioral health model with full-time mental health providers who will work in conjunction with you to optimize patient care.
Residents participate in onsite specialty clinics, such as:
- full-time optometry clinic
- TB clinic for the city of Springfield
- HIV coordinated care clinic
- nephrology clinic
- pulmonary clinic
- developmental disabilities clinic
- diabetes coordinated care clinic
- midwifery and colposcopy clinics
