Emergency Medicine Administrative Fellowship, UMass Chan - Baystate

The Emergency Medicine Administrative Fellowship at Baystate Medical Center, regional campus of the UMass Chan Medical School, is a one- to two-year fellowship ideal for graduates of emergency medicine residency who have a particular interest in the administration of an emergency medicine department. We accept one or two fellows per year.

Launch a Successful Career in Emergency Medicine Administration

We provide the mentored experience and didactics necessary for young clinicians to become successful independent leaders in academic emergency medicine.

At the busiest emergency department in Massachusetts—204,000 emergency and urgent care visits last year—you will receive expert training from our emergency medicine faculty in the areas of:

  • quality improvement
  • finance
  • billing/coding
  • health policy
  • risk management
  • process improvement
  • leadership
  • operations
  • staffing

Our fellowship incorporates capstone and didactic classwork through the American Association of Physician Leadership, as well as through an MBA degree from the University of Massachusetts Isenberg School of Management.

You will also have exposure to community and academic emergency medicine models.
