We provide 24/7 inpatient consultations for pediatrics patients at Baystate Children’s Hospital and follow-up care at Baystate Children’s Specialty Center.
Comprehensive Care
Our infectious disease team treats a wide variety of infectious diseases caused by germs including bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites. Our faculty are experts on everything from the viruses that cause the common cold to the most serious illnesses caused by the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV).

Research
We also have an Infectious Diseases Clinical Research Unit, where we conduct clinical studies primarily related to HIV/AIDS, hepatitis C, pneumonia, influenza and vaccines. Our fellowship is the only ACGME-accredited Infectious Diseases fellowship in western Massachusetts.
