The infectious disease specialists at Baystate Health diagnose and treat patients with infections. Our expert staff cares for you whether you are in the hospital or visiting one of our outpatient clinics. We provide 24/7 inpatient consultations for pediatrics patients at Baystate Children’s Hospital and follow-up care at Baystate Children’s Specialty Center.
Our infectious disease team treats a wide variety of infectious diseases caused by germs including bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites. Our faculty are experts on everything from the viruses that cause the common cold to the most serious illnesses caused by the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV).

At our Travel Medicine office you can schedule an appointment with a nurse practitioner for a customized travel health and safety consultation. During this meeting, you will be able to discuss your travel plans and receive specific vaccine and medication recommendations.

We also have an Infectious Diseases Clinical Research Unit, where we conduct clinical studies primarily related to HIV/AIDS, hepatitis C, pneumonia, influenza and vaccines. Our fellowship is the only ACGME-accredited Infectious Diseases fellowship in western Massachusetts.
