IUI (Intrauterine Insemination)
IUI, or intrauterine insemination, is one of the most commonly performed reproductive procedures in the world. IUI involves inserting washed, concentrated sperm directly through the cervix and into the uterus.
At Baystate Reproductive Medicine, our board-certified infertility specialists have advanced training in techniques such as IUI. Our Reproductive Biology lab at Baystate Medical Center ensures the safe, secure storage and handling of sperm.
WHEN TO CONSIDER IUI
IUI is often useful when:
- Infertility is related to endometriosis
- Infertility is related to a scarred or closed cervix
- There is a low sperm count
