Dr. Zaghloul joins as Medical Director of Behavioral Health

Zaghloul Shadi smBaystate Wing Hospital is pleased to announce that Dr. Shadi Zaghloul has joined their medical staff and will serve as medical director for outpatient and inpatient behavioral health within the department of psychiatry.

Dr. Zaghloul graduated from the Jordan University of Science and Technology in Irbid, Jordan, and completed his residency in internal medicine and psychiatry at the University of Connecticut in Farmington, Connecticut. He completed his fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Boston Children’s Hospital/Harvard University. Additionally, Dr. Zaghloul is completing his Master’s Degree in Business Administration at UMASS Amherst Isenberg School of Business.

“Dr. Zaghloul brings over 19 years of practice in psychiatry to Baystate Wing Hospital and we are delighted to have him provide leadership to our behavioral health team,” said Dr. David Maguire, chief medical officer for the Baystate Mary Lane Outpatient Center and Baystate Wing Hospital. 

Dr. Zaghloul specializes in the treatment of children, adolescents and adults. He is currently affiliated with Baystate Medical Center and is part of the Child Behavioral Health Division. He is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in General Psychiatry and American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.

“He will guide our staff of mental health professionals. Our staff treats adults and adolescents and children suffering from psychiatric, emotional, substance use and behavioral challenges. The goal is improving their clinical status and helping them regain their quality of life allowing them to return to their families, communities and daily activities. We look to Dr. Zaghloul to lead our team in achieving these goals,” Dr. Maguire said.

Outside of work, Dr. Zaghloul enjoys playing the guitar, spending time with family, listening to live music and traveling.

About the practice

In addition to inpatient psychiatric care, Baystate Wing Hospital offers comprehensive, personalized, high-quality outpatient behavioral health and substance use treatment services through the Griswold Behavioral Health Center.

Dr. Zaghloul joins a practice that currently has four psychiatrists and three advanced practitioners. The team, also includes licensed therapists, offers a broad range of services including individual, couples, family and group therapy; psychiatric assessment and treatment for children, teens, adults and elders; substance use counseling and medication assisted treatment; medication management services; and clinical groups including an early recovery group and a women’s recovery group.

The Griswold Center for Behavioral Health, a service of Baystate Wing Hospital, provides outpatient mental health and addiction recovery services. Most insurance plans are accepted.
