Midwifery Education Program Academic Calendar

Class Meetings

• Classes are held on-campus, 9am-5pm
• Optional educational opportunities are available at Baystate Medical Center throughout the week
• Course intensives:
  • Semester 1, classes meet three days during for the first two weeks
  • Semester 3, classes meet four days during the first week

Fall Semester (15 weeks)

• Semester begins the Tuesday after Labor Day.
• Thanksgiving & Friday after Thanksgiving off
• Finals week 15
• 3-4 weeks off between Fall and Spring semesters to work, do extra clinical, etc.

Spring Semester (15 weeks)

• Semester begins the week before Martin Luther King Day.
• One week vacation in March.
• Finals week 15.
• 2-3 weeks off between Spring and Summer semesters.

Summer Semester (12 weeks)

• Semester begins the Tuesday after Memorial Day
• Finals week 12.
• 2-3 weeks off between Summer and Fall semesters.

Note: Jefferson University and UMass Amherst have different completion dates.
