Research Centers at UMMS-Baystate
As nationally-recognized experts in population health, clinical effectiveness and outcomes research, we have established two research centers that focus on effective and efficient health care.
Institute for Health Care Delivery and Population Science
Director: Peter Lindenauer, MD, MSc
The multidisciplinary Institute for Healthcare Delivery and Population Science develops, implements and evaluates innovative strategies to transform the delivery of healthcare services, translate evidence into routine practice, generate new knowledge about what works, when, and under what circumstances.
Clinical Trials Office
Program Director: Judith Pride, RN, MSHS, CCRC, CCRP, CIP
The Clinical Trials Office works to increase the availability of clinical trials for patients in western Massachusetts. Findings will be used to advance the delivery of the latest cutting-edge therapies to our patients.
Clinical Trials Unit
The Office of Research was awarded a grant in 2019 from the Mass Life Science Center to expand capacity to conduct Clinical Trials in western Massachusetts. This grant has helped create an out-patient Clinical Trial Unit located at 80 Wason Avenue in Springfield. Having a dedicated space focused solely on clinical trials provides the opportunity to accelerate the growth of Baystate Health's clinical trial portfolio and increase access to innovative treatment for our patients and the community. The Clinical Trial Unit has 4 exam rooms, 2 consult rooms, a research pharmacy and laboratory as well as staff offices.
