The Baystate Medical Center PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program strives to be a program that will address our pharmacy residents’ career goals and interest areas. We participate in the ASHP residency match and are fully accredited. Our affiliations are with Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and Western New England University College of Pharmacy.

Curriculum Information

  • Core Required Rotations (4 Week Duration): Orientation, Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Antimicrobial Stewardship, Medication Safety, Pediatrics, Adult Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, Resident Self-improvement Rotation (5-6 weeks)
  • Elective Rotations - Complete 3 (4 Week Duration): Repeat any Core Rotation or choose Academia, Geriatrics, Hematology/Oncology, Infectious Disease (Consult Service), Pediatric Critical Care, Renal Transplant, Emergency Medicine II
  • Longitudinal Learning Experiences (7): Inpatient Pharmacy Operations, Ambulatory Clinic/Patient Care, Pharmacy Administration, Residency Project, Education/Academia, Baystate Health Pharmacy & Therapeutics, Drug Information & Non-formulary Requests On-Call Page
