ABP Curriculum

This 3 -year curriculum is for fellows seeking certification from the American Board of Pediatrics.

Year 1

Six 4-week blocks are spent within the pediatric emergency department. The first month includes didactic sessions of core emergent pediatric emergency medicine topics as well as a procedure lab.

One 4-week block is also spent in each of the following rotations:

• pediatric intensive care
• pediatric anesthesia
• ultrasound and procedures
• pediatric abuse education
• adult emergency medicine
• research

Year 2

Six 4-week blocks are spent within the pediatric emergency department.

One 4-week block is spent in each of the following:

• pediatric intensive care unit
• trauma
• toxicology
• Emergency Medicine Services

Year 3

Six 4-week blocks are spent within the pediatric emergency department.

One 4-week block is spent in each of the following:

• adult emergency department
• combined OB/GYN rotation with administrative education
• elective
• NICU resuscitations
• combined emergency medicine systems education and pediatric abuse education and pediatric abuse education

Three 4-week blocks are devoted to research.
