Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

ACLS is an advanced, Instructor-led classroom course that highlights the importance of:

  • Team dynamics and communication
  • Systems of care and immediate post-cardiac arrest care
  • Airway management
  • Related pharmacology

In this course, skills are taught in large, group sessions and small, group learning and testing stations where case-based scenarios are presented. ACLS is designed for Medical professionals who respond to cardiovascular emergencies in and out of the hospital. To enhance their treatment knowledge and skills through the AHA’s ACLS training courses.

Basic Life Support (BLS)

Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers is for both new certifications and renewals. This course covers:

  • Adult, child, and infant CPR/AED
  • Single and multiple rescuers CPR/AED
  • Airway management, including bag-mask and rescue breathing
  • Team dynamics for both in and out of hospital care
  • Recognition of life-threatening emergencies, including choking

The goal of this course is to provide you the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

PALS Course is for healthcare providers who respond to emergencies in infants and children. The goal of PALS is to improve the quality of care provided to seriously ill or injured children, resulting in improved outcomes. This classroom, Instructor-led course uses a series of videos and simulated pediatric emergencies to reinforce the important concepts of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for child and infant
  • Pediatric treatment algorithms
  • Effective pediatric resuscitation
  • Team dynamics for both in and out of hospital care

The goal of the PALS Course is to improve the quality of care provided to seriously ill or injured children, resulting in improved outcomes.

Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS)

The PEARS® course helps healthcare providers develop the knowledge and skills needed for emergency evaluation and treatment of seriously ill infants and children. Targeted toward healthcare providers who frequently/ infrequently see critically ill or injured infants and children, but are not PALS certified. The goal of this course is to improve the quality of care provided, resulting in improved outcomes.

The PEARS course covers:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for child and infant
  • To assess and recognize respiratory distress, shock, and cardiac arrest
  • Manage respiratory, shock and cardiac arrest emergencies
  • Appropriate lifesaving interventions to take within the initial minutes of response until the child is transferred to an advanced life support provider resuscitation

Team concept PEARS training is intended for any healthcare provider and others who might encounter pediatric emergency situations in the course of their work, including:

  • Physicians and nurses, not specializing in pediatrics (PALS certified)
  • Nurse practitioners
  • Physician assistants
  • Emergency medical technicians
  • Respiratory therapists
  • Pre-hospital and in-hospital healthcare providers (outside of critical care areas, i.e. PALS certified)
  • Outpatient clinical staff
  • School-based providers

PEARS training is intended for those staff members who routinely provide pediatric care and are not required to have PALS certification.
