Application Process

• Applicants must complete the Standardized Application for Pathology Fellowships
• The Cytopathology Fellowship Program applicant is required to submit the following when applying:
  • Completed application
  • Current CV
  • Personal statement
  • 3 letters of recommendation
  • USMLE Steps 1, 2 and 3 scores or COMLEX-USA Levels 1, 2 and 3 scores

Applications should be submitted in full by April 1 of the year prior to the start of the fellowship to:

Timeline

We are proudly participating in the American Society of Cytopathology (ASC) unified recruitment timeline for cytopathology fellowship programs.

• July-August: Applications Reviewed
• August-October: Virtual Interviews
• Earliest Offer Date: October 3

Appointment Requirements

All applicants must fulfill our Resident & Fellow Appointment Requirements.

In addition, prior to matriculation to fellowship training at Baystate Medical Center, all incoming fellows must have:

• Completion of a 4 year ACGME-accredited AP/CP Pathology Program or 3 year AP Pathology Program.
• Passed the USMLE Step 3 or COMLEX-USA Level 3 examination.

Institutional Policy on Visa Status

If you are a foreign national, you must enter the United States on an appropriate visa and maintain appropriate visa status throughout your training.

We sponsor residents and fellows on J-1 visas through the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG). Read our Resident Visas Policy.
