Applying to the Breast Oncology Fellowship

Application Process

  • This fellowship is accredited by the Society of Surgical Oncology and American Society of Breast Surgeons’ Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship Program with oversight by the SSO-ASBrS Training Committee.
  • We participate in the SSO Breast Match. Refer to the Match website for required application documentation. 

Applicant Requirements

Institutional Policy on Visa Status

J1 Visas

Baystate Medical Center sponsors J1 Visas through ECFMG for applicants who are eligible for appointment to a fellowship position.

H1B Visas

The availability of the institution to support H1B Visas is very limited. Under exceptional circumstances, the Program Director and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs at Baystate Medical Center will review H1B applications.

Interviews

In-Person Interviews

  • Interviews will be conducted in-person in the spring of 2025 for fellowship year 2026-2027.
  • We will be using the Thalamus platform to allow self-scheduling of interviews. Invitations for interviews will be sent by the program through Thalamus once interview notifications are permitted to be sent out per the rules of match.
