Vascular Surgery Fellowship Curriculum
Vascular Surgery Fellowship Curriculum
The two year fellowship program in vascular surgery will provide you with the knowledge and skills to build productive and fulfilling careers as clinicians, educators, researchers, and leaders within the field.
Two rotations
The fellowship is broken down into two main rotations. The fellows will rotate between these rotations in 3 month blocks.
Rotation one:
- Focuses on managing the inpatient vascular surgery service. This includes performing both open and endovascular operations, running the service, managing inpatient and emergency room consultations, and managing the general surgery residents and mid-level providers assigned to the service.
Rotation two:
- Focuses on outpatient vascular care with a fellows clinic. In addition the fellow assigned to this rotation will participate in outpatient venous procedures, the vascular lab, and may assist with case coverage on the inpatient service should the need arise. In addition this fellow will be expected to manage and delegate responsibilities for the didactic curriculum and be involved in departmental research.
The call coverage will be Q3, alternating coverage between the two fellows and the senior general surgery residents. The call for the fellows is at home call.
Our robust educational curriculum also includes:
- Weekly pre-operative case conference
- Monthly morbidity and mortality conference
- Journal club
- A biweekly vascular surgery educational lecture.
