Pediatrics Residency Program Director's Message

Thank you for your interest in the UMass Chan Medical School-Baystate Pediatrics Residency Program. We are very proud of our residency and our residents. Our balanced, comprehensive program provides a strong foundation for our graduates whether they enter general pediatrics practice or go on to fellowship training.

Our strong emphasis on teamwork reflects the lack of hierarchy within our training program. We are all life-long learners, learning from everyone with whom we work—that is the “Baystate way.” As you progress through residency your competence will increase and your responsibilities will grow. Our  learner-manager-teacher framework supports you with a curriculum tailored to each stage.

We expect excellence in patient care and professionalism. We know that residency can be a stressful time, and we work hard to maximize your learning and make sure that you have a supportive and collegial environment in which to train. We are responsive to resident needs and feedback, and frequently make changes based on resident suggestions. We believe that we take better care of our patients when we take care of ourselves and each other.

Please reach out to see why we enjoy working at Baystate Children’s Hospital and living in western Massachusetts.

Sincerely,

Dr. Molly Senn-McNally
