Why is Baystate's Radiology Residency So Good?

Our Program Director explains 5 factors that make a great radiology residency program.

Radiology Residency at UMMS-Baystate

Commitment to Residents Defines Our Program

Baystate's Radiology Residency curriculum balances one-on-one teaching over clinical cases and didactic lectures.

To help you foster those important, close professional relationships with our faculty members, we are intentional about providing a very supportive collegial environment.

We value our residents—and their ideas. You are invited, and encouraged, to serve on department and hospital committees.

Dedicated to Helping You Become Your Best

Find a mentor in your areas of interest among our large, well-trained faculty with expertise in diverse sub-specialties, including:

  • Neuroradiology
  • Interventional radiology
  • Cardiac imaging
  • Nuclear medicine and more.

You will also have opportunities to explore management and scholarly goals through rotations in Radiology Business Administration and Research, among others.

Continually Innovating to Maximize Your Education

We're working with our Simulation Center to create a "call prep" test environment—clinical cases are presented to residents on a PACS system within an environment designed to simulate an actual call experience.

Currently, no similar program exists for radiology residents anywhere in the U.S.

Baystate's Radiology Residency is ACGME-accredited.
