Baystate Pediatric Pulmonology provides care in the inpatient and outpatient settings for the evaluation and management of infants, children and adolescents with congenital and acquired, acute and chronic respiratory disorders. We offer a wide range of patient care services, participate in collaborative clinical research as well as in the pediatric residency training program and medical education.
Our multidisciplinary team of pediatric pulmonologists, other pediatric specialists, nurses, respiratory therapists, nutritionist, social worker, and child life specialist care for patients with pulmonary disorders such as cystic fibrosis, bronchopulmonary dysplasia and neuromuscular disorders. We provide care for a large number of patients with asthma in the Springfield area and outlying communities with availabiity of staff for care coordination. Care coordination is likewise provided for patients who are technology-dependent, i.e., on invasive or non-invasive ventilatory support. We offer state-of-the art diagnostic capabilities for flexible bronchoscopy and pulmonary function testing. Baystate Medical Center has an accredited Sleep Medicine Program that provides diagnostic and intervention modalities for pediatric patients.
