Members of the Infectious Disease Division diagnose and treat patients with various infections. Our eight faculty physicians, two infectious diseases fellows, and travel clinic nurse practitioner, care for patients in the ambulatory setting (clinic) and in the hospital. We provide 24/7 inpatient consultations for pediatrics patients at Baystate Children’s Hospital and follow-up care at Baystate Children’s Specialty Center.
We also have an Infectious Diseases Clinical Research Unit, where we conduct clinical studies, primarily related to HIV/AIDS, hepatitis C, pneumonia, influenza and vaccines.
Members of the Infectious Diseases Division hold faculty appointments at Tufts University School of Medicine, and are involved in the education of fellows, residents, and medical students. The ID division has the only ACGME-accredited Infectious Diseases fellowship in western Massachusetts.
