The Infectious Disease subspecialty fellowship at Baystate Medical Center has been continuously operative since 1985. This 2-year fellowship is available to those who have completed a three-year ACGME-accredited program in internal medicine or combined medicine-pediatrics.

Our 2-year Infectious Diseases Fellowship at UMass Chan Medical School-Baystate has been continuously operative since l985. This clinically oriented, fellow-centric program is available to those who have completed a three-year ACGME-accredited program in internal medicine or combined medicine-pediatrics.
You will receive comprehensive training in the practice of infectious diseases in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Our ten readily accessible faculty have expertise in all aspects of clinical infectious diseases, microbiology (bacteriology, mycology, mycobacteriology, serology, and virology), clinical research and quality improvement, infection control/hospital epidemiology, and antimicrobial stewardship.

- PG4: adult inpatient consultations (6 months); research (3 months); pediatric consultations (1 month); microbiology/infection control (1 month); multispecialty month (1 month)
- PG5: adult consultations (6 months); research (4 months); transplantation (1 month); multispecialty month (1 month)
- Outpatient Clinics: General ID Clinic, HIV Clinic, OPAT clinic and Hepatitis clinic
- Weekly Conferences: core curriculum series, microbiology, Internal Medicine Grand Rounds
- Monthly Conferences: case presentations, fellows' presentations, journal club, HIV conference
