The certified nurse-midwives at Baystate Medical Practices - Pioneer Women's Health - Northampton are highly educated professionals with backgrounds in both nursing and midwifery. All are certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board, licensed to practice and prescribe medications by the state of Massachusetts, and credentialed by Baystate Franklin Medical Center.

Birthing Options
We offer a wide range of choices when it comes to birthing your baby:
- We welcome women who have had a previous cesarean delivery to experience a vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC).
- Our Jacuzzi or birth tubs help many women to cope with the discomforts of labor and welcome their babies into a warm and calming environment.
- We also offer nitrous oxide. Because it is self-administered, nitrous oxide allows women to decide how much to use and when.
Mothers recovering from addiction are invited to participate in EMPOWER, a program that provides early referrals.
