These classes provide support for new parents including breastfeeding information, helpful hints for happy babies, and more.

Newborn Behavior and Feeding

Taken after you deliver, this class with your new baby provides postpartum support for new parents and provides information on newborn behavior in the first few weeks of your infant’s life. The class includes feeding cues for breast and bottle feeding, infant sleep patterns, comforting a crying infant, information about returning to work, continued support for breastfeeding moms, pumping techniques, and storage of breast milk.

It Takes a Village, New Parent’s Gatherings

Have a new baby in your life? Join us at a new parent’s play group.

Enjoy meeting families and share with one another the joys and trials of being a parent and build your “village”. This group is recommended for parents of children who are not yet walking. The group is facilitated by a Baystate Parent Educator and Baby Behaviorist.

Bosom Buddies Breastfeeding Get-togethers

Breastfeeding education before and after the birth of your baby is an important aspect of the care and feeding of your baby. Breastfeeding has health benefits for baby and mom, and economic benefits too. Our Bosom Buddies Get-togethers will cover the essentials to prepare moms and provide ongoing support. Everyone is welcome. Join our get-togethers and share your thoughts, feelings, and previous breastfeeding journeys.

Gathering for Breastfeeding Moms and Babies

If you are a pregnant, breastfeeding or pumping mother please join us at our breastfeeding gatherings. You will have the opportunity to ask one of the Baystate Medical Center’s International Board Certified Lactation Consultants your questions and get some tips and advice on breastfeeding. 

You will also have fun talking with the other mothers and making new friends! An infant scale is available for those who would like to weigh their baby between pediatrician visits.

Mother to Mother, Support for Women

If you are a mother, join us in a safe, confidential space where women come together and speak the truth about womanhood. Talk with other women about the adjustment to motherhood, balancing day to day self and family care, or the struggles of raising a family in today’s world. Come to a place where you can feel heard, nurtured, understood and validated. Babies in arms are welcome. Run by trained MotherWoman facilitators.

Postnatal Yoga with Baby

This class is a great opportunity to bond with your baby, strengthen muscles that were affected in pregnancy/labor and stretch all of motherhood’s new aches and pains. You will learn breathing techniques to calm the mind and bring energy to the body. This class will also work on strengthening the pelvic floor and abdomen.

This is an informal class where mothers will learn how to partake in exercise while connecting with baby and have the opportunity to come together with other mothers to share. Babies are unpredictable; therefore whether they’re crying, laughing, eating, sleeping or pooping, just know you are in a welcoming space.

Babies up to 1 year old and crawling welcome.

Time: 4pm - 5:30pm

Cost: $12 per class/ $60 for 6 class pack - Please register in advance

What should I bring to class?

Please bring a pillow and blanket for extra support.

What is the refund policy?

Cancellations up to 7 days before the class receive a full refund, minus a processing fee. Refunds are not available after that time.



It Takes a Village: Parents of Toddlers Support Group

This group meets in a fun, child friendly environment and is open to all parents of toddlers who are interested in discussing potty training, setting limits, temper tantrums, new sibling adjustment and more.

Schedule: Thursdays at 11am-12pm at the Greenwood Center, 231 Maple Road, Longmeadow.
