Total Joint Replacement Rehabilitation
Many patients recuperating from total joint replacement of the knee or hip are able to have successful rehabilitation at home with the support of visiting nurses, therapists, and home care aides.
Working closely with orthopedic surgeons, a home therapy and exercise program is developed for each patient. The goal is to maximize the patient's function at home, focusing on a return to independence with home safety, personal comfort, and excellent wound healing.
Experience the benefits of rehabilitation at home following your surgery:
Full Range of Services
Based on your needs, our staff of physical therapists, occupational therapists, registered nurses, medical social works and/or home health aides may provide your services, as ordered by your physician.
Our rehabilitation professionals have in-depth experience working with total joint replacement patients to help them return to active lifestyles. Our rehab team will initiate home service with 24-36 hours after hospital discharge.
Personal Plan of Care
Our experienced rehab team works closely with your surgeon to provide you with professional assessment and care to help you return to an active lifestyle. The frequency of visits will be determined by your needs and as ordered by your physician. In some situations, the initial schedule may even call for daily home therapy visits.
Therapy services include a home safety assessment and may result in recommendations for adaptive equipment to improve your safety and mobility.
