My experience with COVID-19 has been a roller coaster of emotions. At first, in the early stages of the pandemic, I was scared and stressed because I didn’t know what to expect.
Some days I came home with tears streaming down my face, just taken over with grief and heartbreak, but I knew I had an important job to do to keep patients and staff safe. I worked through the initial hardships so I could console families who needed it and just make them feel as comfortable as possible.
I got the vaccine because I believe it is safe to take and it’ll be safer for myself, my family, coworkers and patients if I get it. After I got my first dose, I just felt a little dizzy for the first hour and then I was fine. My arm was a little sore as well but other than that, I felt great.
I’m hoping that this choice will lead to us slowly returning back to a normal life.
