Colon Cancer Surgery Gets Northfield Man Back to What He Loves (Video)

When Peter Blake went for his routine colonoscopy this past summer, it turned out to be anything but routine. He learned he needed surgery to remove a cancerous growth.

“It was a little shocking,” he remembers. And he couldn’t help but start thinking about the worst possible outcomes. It was his belief in his surgeon, Dr. Thampi Ampadi at Baystate Franklin Medical Center, that helped to turn the despair to hope.

“I just believed he was going to take care of me,” Blake says. “And that’s what he did… Dr. Ampadi, in my eyes, is the best.”

He considers himself a very lucky man.
