A Comparison of Fractional Flow Reserve-Guided Percutaneous Coronary Intervention and Coronary Artery Bypass Graft Surgery in Patients with Multivessel Coronary Artery Disease: Fractional Flow Reserve versus Angiography for Multivessel Evaluation (FAME) 3 Trial

The purpose of this study is to demonstrate that Fractional Flow Reserve (FFR)-guided Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) is non-inferior to coronary artery bypass graft surgery (CABG) in patients with multi-vessel Coronary Artery Disease (CAD). FFF-guided PCI might result in lower rates of death, heart attack, and the need for repeat revascularization as compared to what was seen after CABG surgery. There is also the possibility of a chance at a shorter recovery time with the minimally invasive FFR-guided PCI versus CABG surgery.

This clinical trial evaluates:

  • the effects of the addition of erlotinib to gemcitabine compared to gemcitabine alone following pancreas adenocarcinoma surgery
  • whether the use of fluoropyrimidine and radiotherapy following adjuvant gemcitabine based chemotherapy further enhances survival for such patients who are without evidence of progressive disease after 5 cycles of gemcitabine based chemotherapy.
