Iha Kaul, PURCH Class of 2022 at UMass Chan Medical School-Baystate, will serve her residency at Brown University in urology.
She learned her residency placement early because she pursued a residency outside of the National Resident Matching Program which won't announce residency matches until March 18, 2022 at noon. Check here for our PURCH students' 2022 residency match results.
During her time in the Population-based Urban and Rural Community Health track Kaul was instrumental in creating Brightwood House’s first legacy project—the MLK Food Justice Fair. In her first year in medical school she applied for a grant and worked with classmates and leaders at Martin Luther King Jr Family Service Center to implement the first fair in 2019—it has continued every year since.
Kaul was also one of nine PURCH medical students selected by their peers and mentors in 2021 for induction into the UMass Medical School Chapter of the Gold Humanism Honor Society.
