In December 2020, the Baystate Health Nurse Residency Program received dual recognition by the ANCC Practice Transition Accreditation Program® (PTAP) as an Industry-Recognized Apprenticeship Program (IRAP) through the Department of Labor.
IRAPs are high-quality apprenticeship programs where individuals obtain workplace-relevant training and progressively advancing skills.
In December, the Nurse Residency program also welcomed its 23rd cohort of nurse residents.
Seventy-two bright, excited, and engaged nurse residents were onboarded and started their professional careers as registered nurses at Baystate Medical Center or Baystate Noble Hospital. The nurse residents hold degrees from local Springfield colleges and universities and as far away as University of Washington in Seattle.
